Gymnastics & Tumbling
Kem’s Gym in Ponca City is one of the finest and most experienced gymnastic schools in Oklahoma with local, state and national recognition. We are dedicated to teaching tumbling and coaching gymnastics for children from preschool age through young adults.
Kem’s Gym has created a step-by-step developmental program where one skill is a preparation for the next. This helps provide a safe and logical learning sequence. Technical proficiency is the basis for personal expression. Particularly beneficial are its psychological values of confidence and enjoyment through participation.
Come join us at Kem’s Gym for a wonderful gymnastic experience.
Our track record is well established.
3 years through young adults
Gymnastic training will include Olympic events: uneven parallel bars, floor, and balance beam. Students will also work on strength and flexibility.
We use the U.S.A. Gymnastic curriculum which teaches systematic skill progressions. An evaluation of the student’s progress is made from time to time so parents can monitor their child’s learning.
Attire: Any style leotard or biketard. Shorts can be worn over the leotard if they are form fitting (no jean shorts). Please check with your instructor. Hair must be in a neat, secure style off your face and neck (bun, braids, ponytail or dog ears). Hair on sides of the head is better than a ponytail – one “bump” in the middle may hurt when “going over”.) Bangs pinned off your face.
Tumbling & Tumble Trak
7 years and up
A tumble-only class which includes controlled and power tumbling. Strength and flexibility skills will also be taught. Students will have access to all floor equipment which will include a spring-loaded floor, air floor and a tumbl-trak. So tumbling skills can be used for various activities (cheer, dance, etc.), transferring techniques to a wooden floor will be addressed where applicable.
Attire: Same as Gymnastics or can wear a tight fitting cami and bootie shorts. No large shirts or jean shorts. Hair, same as Gymnastics. Baggy shorts or pants are never allowed.
A two-piece outfit can be used for gymnastics or tumbling – although a leotard is better (“spotting” skin can be painful!) Bra Tops – need a full back or racer back – NO strings that tie. We need you well covered. Shorts – no low cutS, they need to cover. Use form fitting shorts (no jeans).
